SPARK! Travel Stories Along the Spice Route

With Maureen Holland

1:30pm

About the event

The Spice Routes were a network of sea routes that linked the East with the West; stretching from Japan, through the islands of Indonesia and Malaysia, around India and eventually making their way to Europe. Join in our journey to Penang (Malaysia), Phuket (Thailand), Sri Lanka and Southern India, where we explored life there today and how it was influenced by the Asian and European traders that used these ports. You’ll see some special slides and videos from our safari in Yala National Park in Sri Lanka, a unique visit to Elephant Island, and watch us make a traditional Indian snack – pani puri.
