Join in this unique and intimate opportunity to get close with the intricate, playful, and powerful percussive instruments of Scrap Arts Music. Using the group’s touring instrument set as a departure point, this dynamic workshop will balance discussion and experiential encounters with “found sound” as defined and facilitated by Scrap Arts Music’s Artistic Director, Gregory Kozak. With an introduction to kinetic instruments created from recycled and salvaged materials followed by hands-on experience with how to find and assess materials with sonic potential, the workshop will culminate in a “found sound” sonic palette of poetic pop percussion! This workshop has limited availability, is designed for individuals aged 8 and above, and makes for a great outing as family or friends experience. Please wear comfortable, easy to move in clothing and footwear.
