Get ready for an evening of musical delight with the Denver Concert Band as they present “I’ll Have Seconds, Please”. This unique program will showcase the exceptional talents of Stephen Dombrowski, Principal Tubist of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, in a celebration of second symphonies, suites, preludes, and more. The DCB will present Gustav Holst’s “Second Suite in F,” a beloved work known for its rich melodies and intricate harmonies, providing a perfect start to our evening of second-themed music. Other selections will include the elegance of George Gershwin’s “Second Prelude,” a piece that beautifully blends classical traditions with jazz influences, and Arturo Márquez’s “Danzón No. 2,” a vibrant and rhythmic piece inspired by the Cuban dance style. This energetic composition will have you swaying in your seat, showcasing the dynamic range and expressive power of our concert band. The Denver Concert Band is an ensemble of about 90 adult musicians who have a passion for performing instrumental music. Entertaining audiences since 1968, the band is entering their 57th concert season.
