About the event
Classical music isn’t always of grand proportions; sometimes it’s music for a group of friends. Mozart wrote his violin and viola duos to help composer Michael Haydn (brother of Joseph) As for Brahms, he composed three violin sonatas for a violinist colleague and two viola/clarinet sonatas for another friend. Both composers would have welcomed other friends and acquaintances to listen. Phillip Stevens and friends, with concert host Betsy Schwarm, offer background stories of the music. Please join us for two of the greatest master composers, here in a more casual mode: music for friends of music!
