Interactive Art Installation - "Aeolian"
“Aeolian” refers to the sound or musical tone produced by the movement of air. The sound created by a hummingbird moving their wings. The hummingbird sits on a perch and is collecting nectar out of the poppy flower bench.
She stands around 14’ tall with a 4’ wing span and weighs around 400 pounds. Aeolian was fabricated out of carbon steel, using a CNC plasma to make the bench and bird. Aeolian was fabricated by Model Metal based in Arvada. Our team of fabricators are Katy McClure, Mitch Hoffman, Beck Hargrove, James Venable, and Jake Barbal.
