The 23rd Annual Lone Tree Art Expo is presented by the City of Lone Tree and the Lone Tree Arts Commission. The dates for this juried exhibition are September 26th, 2024 – January 5th, 2025.

Call: August 8, 2024 – September 3, 2024

Jurying: September 4 – 6, 2024

Notification: September 9, 2024

Load-in: September 24, 2024 from 3pm-6pm

Viewing: September 26th, 2024 – January 5th, 2025

Reception: September 26th, 2024 from 6:30pm-8:30pm

Load-out: January 6, 2025 from 3pm-6pm

 

Artist Waiver and Release 2024

Categories include

Painting (oil, acrylic, tempera, encaustic)

Drawing (pastel, pencil, charcoal)

Watercolor

Mixed Media (collage or combination of any media)

Sculpture (cannot exceed 24″) no more than 8 will be accepted

Awards

Selections for the exhibition are made via callforentry.org (CaFÉ™) from JPEG images. Awards are made by the juror in person and include the final presentation of the artwork. Prize money will be awarded to each winner.  Awards include: Best of Show and Commissioner’s Choice award, Painting First Place and Second Place, Drawing First Place and Second Place, Watercolor First Place and Second Place, Mixed Media First Place and Second Place, and Sculpture First Place and Second Place.

Juror Information

GENE YOUNGMANN is a well-known Colorado plein air watercolorist. Youngmann graduated from UNC with a Master of Arts in June 1979, followed by a career teaching art for thirty years in Jefferson County Schools, teaching drawing at Golden High School for twenty-five years and retired in May 2003.
Youngmann’s watercolor paintings have appeared in many national and regional art shows and exhibitions, most recently;

  • 24th Annual Stampede Western Art Exhibit & Sale, Greeley Arts Association, June 26 – July 7, 2024
  • 26th Annual Colorado Visions Art Exhibit, College Hill Library, April 19 – May 19, 2024, Merit Award;
  • North Metro Arts Alliance Members Exhibit 2024, May 2 – June 3, 2024;
  • Foothills Art Center Member Show 2024;
  • the Colorado Watercolor Society Member Show 2023, Lakewood Civic Center;
  • Westminster Plein Air Festival, Aar River Gallery, Best Historical Painting;
  • “This Is Colorado” Exhibit 2023, Heritage Fine Arts Guild of Arapahoe County, Colorado Gallery of the Arts, Arapahoe Community College, Award of Excellence;

Youngmann participates in plein air events each summer in Colorado, most recently the 6th Annual Georgetown Plein Air Event. Founding member of the Plein Air Buddies, group of professional artists that paint together on Tuesday mornings along the Front Range west of Denver.
