Better Hearing Month with Cochlear

Community Partners

Better Hearing Month, observed every May, is a wonderful opportunity to focus on hearing health and take proactive steps to ensure auditory well-being. This month-long campaign is designed to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and intervention for hearing loss. By scheduling regular hearing check-ups and staying informed about the signs of hearing loss, individuals can significantly improve their quality of life. Advances in hearing technology, such as hearing aids and cochlear implants, offer incredible solutions that can enhance communication abilities and overall quality of life.

During Better Hearing Month, there are a wealth of resources provided by organizations like the Hearing Loss Association of America. These resources include fact sheets about hearing loss, communication tips and tricks and how to contact an audiologist for a hearing test. Visit Hearing Loss Association of America to learn more.

Another resource aimed at taking charge of your hearing is the ‘Know Your Hearing Number’ campaign from the Cochlear Center for Hearing and Public Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. This new public health initiative is focused on educating the public about their hearing, how it changes over time and what to do if you are experiencing hearing loss. Visit Hearing Number to learn more about this important campaign or to download the Hearing Number app to take a quick 10-minute hearing test.
